My Thyroid Approach
Do any of these sound like you?
- You think you have a thyroid problem or have been diagnosed but you are unhappy with your current treatment plan and results.
- You have done your own research only to realize that there is so much conflicting information out there that you don’t really know what to do next.
- You are tired of quick fix solutions and fad diets that don’t bring much relief and would like a sustainable plan to achieve your health goals.
- You really want to lose some weight, get your energy back, and feel like yourself again so you can be the best mom you can be to your kids. But nothing you have tried so far has worked…
If so, then I want to share with you what has helped my clients the most to free themselves of frustrating thyroid symptoms over the last 12 months.
Let’s face it. If you are a busy mom juggling a career and family, you cannot afford your thyroid condition to continue to make you sick and tired. If your health issues continue to interfere with your life, everything will suffer – you, your family, and your career. Failure is not an option.
Trust me, I understand how you feel. At one point of my life, I was in a similar situation.
Henry Ford once said: “If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got.”
If what you’ve done has not worked for you, then it is time to do something different and take new actions in your life.
If you have hypothyroidism and Hashimoto’s disease or related unexplained health issues and are struggling with the results you’ve obtained from the conventional medical approach, then you could benefit from working with me.
As a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition® Practitioner and Certified Wellness Coach, I take a more holistic, balanced approach compared to the engrained practice of purely treating physical symptoms.
Unlike traditional medicine, my approach assesses the impact of all factors, internal and external, on your health and, through the use of state-of-the-art lab testing, I can deliver highly customized thyroid health coaching and programs that allow women to achieve lasting health and happiness.
I found that to truly understand what is happening with your thyroid health and to restore it, you need to look beyond thyroid hormone replacement alone.
As we work together, I will help to bring attention and awareness to factors such as nutrition, stress, rest, physical activity, and lifestyle, alone and together, affect your thyroid health. Your self-discovery and my recommendations will both positively affect your decisions, choices, and lifestyle and ultimately improve your thyroid health.
I base my thyroid approach on the following 5 criteria which I find are most critical:
1. Everybody is unique
Contrary to popular belief, hypothyroidism and Hashimoto’s disease are not easy to treat and diagnose. Once we get a diagnosis and treatment plan, we struggle with our results and are left asking, “Is this all there is?” We are each unique – therefore, there is no one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to our nutritional requirements or our path to thyroid healing.
2. Test, don’t guess
When it comes to your thyroid there is no room for guess work. While some lab tests can be expensive, complicated or unreliable, others are stress-free and can be done in the comforts of your own home, and some are free and can be done completely on your own.
I’ll educate you on what’s available and help you choose the best option(s) for your situation based on where you are now and where you want to go with your health.
3. No life-long food restrictions
Initially, food restrictions may be necessary temporarily in order for you to heal. While it is important to identify foods that negatively affect your thyroid and immune system, after the healing phase is completed, many women can reintroduce foods they may have been sensitive to back into their diet and enjoy eating them again safely.
4. Long-term sustainable solutions
Most of us want a long-term solution that is sustainable rather than a Band-Aid solution that simply masks symptoms with pills and often unnecessary surgeries.
Don’t get me wrong, thyroid medication is an important part of the healing solution for many and should be taken if prescribed. Personally, when I first started taking Amour thyroid it had a huge positive impact on my health.
However, I found that decreasing the stress in my life while optimizing my underlying body systems (i.e., digestion, detoxification, and hormones) really helped me the most.
5. Proven thyroid healing plan
When I was really sick and frustrated, I started to work with a holistic chiropractor with a functional approach to health. While I did not fully understand the approach at the time, I followed the recommendations and started to see many pieces of my health being put back together.
This approach was critical to my own recovery which propelled me to learn more and receive my training as a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition® Practitioner.
In my experience, women who focus on rebuilding their health not only by taking the right type of thyroid medication at the right dose but also addressing the underlying health of their digestive, detoxification, and hormonal systems get the best results. With me as your Thyroid Coach, I can help you figure out a customized healing solution that will work for you.
If your thyroid health is important to you I want you to know that you don’t have to figure it all out on your own and I am here to help.
